A day late, but still heartfelt

Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends and colleagues!

Henry VI Part 3?

Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holdiay. I spent mine in the ER and am now in a cast. (Touch football went horribly wrong!)

It's like we spent our thanksgiving together! I spent Thursday night in the ER as well. I had breathing problems and spent a couple of hours at the hospital sounding like an asthmatic frog and having to breathe through a tube.

I don't have good drugs--mine just make me fall asleep :( -mel

I didn't get any drugs...but Thanksgiving was still very entertaining with my family all at the same table and 5-8 bottles of wine in...

Mine was spent drug-free at my best friend's house. My lame-ass family decided to forego Thanksgiving this year. But, on the bright side, I'm about to head off to a coworker's house (who has no available family, either), with a fresh-baked pumpkin pie and candied yams in hand.

Life is sweet.

Also, I miss you all! You have been in my heart and thoughts all weekend.

Emily?? Forego Thanksgiving!?!

R, please have your mom send a memo to my mom that wine is lovely for Thanksgiving. I have oft thought our mothers would get along and with the family jokester gone, something will be needed to lift the mood.

Still, a lovely break and a lovely time to remember. You all made my official thankful list.

Thanks to all of you for your well-wishes at a particularly rough time here last week. The last funeral is this afternoon. Family gathering on Thursday (with wine) was much needed. My student's brother was moved out of ICU this weekend (he was touch-and-go last Tuesday) and things are definitey looking better for the others still in the hospital.

Perspective changes everything. My brother-in-law didn't even get on our nerves nearly as much this time.

Much love and well-wishes to Ariana and Mel.
