this could be you...

... if you hopped on a plane and headed to california!

rachael was the first to come visit me in san francisco -- we went out on the town friday night, headed to napa for winetasting saturday, and saw shakespeare in the park on sunday. the tempest was such a perfect outdoor play for san francisco, with the fog quickly blowing in over the bridge and the sun coming in and out. we loved it... but we missed you all!

we're scheming up ways to have a big reunion, but in the meantime, you are all invited to come to sf... more pics on the kodak gallery if you still need to be convinced that california is a fantastic place (though i can't guarantee that redhead rachael will be here to show you a good time... i will do my best though!)

hope your labor day weekend was labor free (though as i write that, i sit with the already present stack of essays to be graded by my side),

k

Red headed Rachael is lovely!!

The ladies neglected to mention their Saturday morning phone call to OKC. They caught me in the middle of a knitting needle run and forced me to do the Tina voice in the middle of the Michael's.

It was glorious. So were the looks from the blue haired yarn buying ladies! :)

I highly recommend crashing on Kim's couch! It's comfy and she's the hostess with the mostest! I had such a blissful time...I can't wait to live there!

How many scantily-clad pillow fights were there? Be honest!

Creating an entire Blogger profile for a quick joke? This is why I will always love Jen.

You have no idea how long I have been holding that identity. I was waiting for just the right time...

I wasn't going to mention this... I was going to keep it safely locked away in the same place I keep my fantasies about a website devoted to watching Emily eat desserts without using her hands... but since the theme of this posting seems to be the carnal imaginings of oversexed (or is that undersexed?) Americans, I will share.

1: THE BACK-STORY
I currently use a dial-up Internet service rather than DSL, mainly because it's cheap. Netscape uses a "web accelerator" program to make pages load faster. Pages DO indeed load faster, but they do so because "web accelerator" automatically reduces the display resolution of pictures and graphics... so the result is a sort of "watered down" version of the actual picture.

2: STORY ELEMENT "A"
I had finally decided to upgrade to DSL for lots of practical reasons. One day, I was about to log off the Internet, so I could call my service provider to order DSL, when I read THIS particular posting.

3: STORY ELEMENT "B"
The pictures of Kim and Red-headed Rachel were indeed lovely, and my heart ached from missing them (I even found myself missing the way Kim always called me "Mr. Wilson," reinforcing her extreme youth and my... well... ancientness...) I was slightly annoyed at the way the "web accelerator" displayed these pictures...

until...

4: COMBINATION OF BACK-STORY AND STORY ELEMENT "B"
I looked at the picture of Rachel and Kim sitting together at a table in a restaurant. Because of the way "web accelerator" works, Kim's flesh tones and the shade of her dress were blended together as one, giving her a... well... less-than-dressed look.

5: THE PAY-OFF
I never made the phone call to my Internet Service Provider. In one brief, shining moment, the need to upgrade to DSL had vanished.

It's hard (impossible, really) to know people's attitudes and feelings merely from their typewritten words... but I want to offer a sincere apology to Kim if my posting offended her in any way. I offer this same apology to anyone else who might have been offended.

And I must say that I will always remain curious about the comment that was removed by the author...
